Legend of Ozun
Ozun was the guard in the house of Obtalá. Obtalá lived there with his wife Yemu and his three sons Oggún, Ochosi and Ellegua. Oggún was the oldest and his younger brothers had to obey him. Oggún was in love with his mother and had been several times tempted to rape her but Eleggua informed the guard who stopped and scolded him. Therefore Oggún threw his brother out of the house and bribed Ozun with piles of sweet corn. The guard ate until his stomach was full and fell asleep peacefully; meanwhile Oggún pleasured himself with his mother. Eleggua went to his father and told him everything who almost couldn't believe the story, but the next day the father came home earlier than usual and grew angry because he saw his guard sleeping, meanwhile Oggún pleasured himself with his mother. Oggún cursed himself and Obtalá said to Ozun: "I trusted you, but you sold yourself for corn". He promoted Eleggua to be his guard meanwhile Ozun lost the trustworthy job forever.
Patakín de Ozun
Ozun era viglilante de Obatalá. Obatalá vivía con su mujer Yemú y sus hijos: Oggún, Ochosi y Elegguá. Oggún era preferido y sus hermanos tenían que obedecerlo. Oggún estaba enamorado de su madre Yemú y varias veces estuvo a punto de violarla, pero Elegguá siempre le avisaba a Ozun, quien venía y regañaba a Oggún.
Entonces Oggún mandó a Elegguá para la calle y le dió montones de maíz dulce a Ozun para que no lo delatara. Ozun comía y luego dormía y así Oggún podía disfrutar de su
madre.
Elegguá le fue con el cuento a Obatalá, que no lo quería creer, pero al otro día volvió más temprano. Obatalá vio a Ozun acostado y a Oggún abusando de su madre, y llegó a su
casa furioso. Fue cuando Oggún se maldijo a si mismo y Obatalá le dijo a Ozun: «Confiaba en ti y te vendiste por maíz.» Y nombró a Elegguá su viglilante. Desde entonces Ozun perdió el cargo.

Oggún war der Älteste und seine jüngeren Brüder mussten ihm gehorchen. Oggún war in seine Mutter verliebt und war bereits einige Male kurz davor, sie zu vergewaltigen, aber Elegguá informierte immer rechtzeitig den Wächter, der ihn davon abhielt und ihn ausschimpfte.
Also warf Oggún seinen Bruder kurzerhand auf die Strasse und brachte Ozun haufenweise köstlichen, süssen Mais, damit ihn dieser nicht verrate. Der Wächter ass und schlief mit vollem Bauch zufrieden ein, sodass sich Oggún ungestört mit seiner Mutter vergnügen konnte.
Elegguá erzählte alles seinem Vater, der das fast nicht glauben konnte, aber am nächsten Tag kam er früher als sonst nach Hause und wurde wütend, da er seinen Wächter Ozún schlafend vorfand, während Oggún sich mit seiner Frau vergnügte. Oggún verfluchte sich selber und Obatalá sprach zu Ozun: "ich habe Dir vertraut, aber Du hast Dich für Mais verkauft". Und er ernannte Elegguá zu seinem Wächter, während Ozun das ehrenvolle Amt für immer verlor.
